Custody Captain
Privacy Notice
Last updated: September 17, 2026
Custody Captain is operated by Pon De River Consulting, Inc. (trading as “Custody Captain”), which is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. This notice explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have.
What we collect
- Account data — your name, email address, and login credentials, used to create and secure your account.
- Calendar content — the custody schedules, holidays, notes, and documents you add, used to provide the service to you and the people you share with.
- Support messages — emails and chat messages you send us, used to help you.
- Usage and device data — telemetry about how the app is used, device identifiers, and IP address, used for security, fraud prevention, and product improvement.
Payment details (card numbers, billing address) are collected directly by Paddle, our Merchant of Record — we never see or store your card number.
Legal bases
We process account data and calendar content to perform our contract with you; usage and device data on the basis of our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and improving it; and marketing emails (if any) with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Some records are kept where a legal obligation requires it.
Who we share data with
- Service providers — hosting, database, analytics, and email delivery providers that process data on our behalf under contract.
- Paddle — our Merchant of Record, for the sale of the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing.
- Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers where needed.
- Authorities — where the law requires it.
Where data is transferred outside the UK/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.
Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except records we must keep by law (for example, tax records held by Paddle).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to restrict or object to processing; to data portability; to withdraw consent; and to complain to your supervisory authority. We respond to requests within one month. To exercise any of these rights, email help@custodycaptain.com.
Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, row-level access controls that isolate each household's data, and restricted access to production systems.
Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and make the app work. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. You can clear cookies in your browser settings; essential cookies are required for sign-in to work.
